It has been a crazy couple weeks. I can’t fill you all in yet but more details are coming soon! The next few weeks are going to be just as crazy…I am going straight from shooting to New York Fashion Week. This year I’m doing a combination of covering shows from the front row and being on the other side, walking the runway. It is going to be a hopping week! All this busyness reminded me of why I think maxi dresses are always a good idea. First and foremost, dresses in general are always smart because they’re one and done, and maxi dresses in particular are easy to throw on and look pretty and pulled together without giving it much thought. And here are a few other reasons why a maxi dress is always a good idea:
+ They are flexible for the changing season…light and breezy when it’s sticky hot, and a little more coverage when it starts to get cool – especially with a convertible piece like this Chicwish dress I’m wearing. It can be worn off the shoulder when it’s warn like today or on the shoulder when it gets a little chillier.

+ To me there is no faster way to feel pretty and feminine. Maybe it is the extra fabric swishing around your legs that lends that feeling of effortlessness and elegance.
+ Maxi dresses also happen to be super comfy. Especially on a Saturday morning, who doesn’t want something easy to wear after a long week?
+ And lastly, a consideration that is important to me and all my fellow pale skinned ladies out there: maxi dresses provide shade protection for your legs. That is one less area I have to slather with sunscreen or risk turning onto lobster legs. 🙂
