wearing white in the summertime in BostonThere are few things chicer than wearing white in the summertime. And that is saying a lot coming from a girl who is unapologetically a total color lover. Ninety nine percent of the time I am wearing color. But when the days get longer and the sun stronger, I get more freckles and a little bit tanned (emphasis on little!), and so I am able to pull off white without looking like a ghost. I have to say, white looks really good against tan skin.

chicwish asymmetric white coat dressWhite always looks fresh, and that is a handy superpower on sticky summer days. The moment I threw on this Chicwish coat dress, I felt instantly cooler on this hot Boston day. In case you have never walked around the campus of MIT (the Massachusetts Institute of Technology), I definitely recommend it. Along with the classic buildings, there is funky architecture, like the Ray and Maria Strata Center, and cool sculpture, like the “Alchemist” by Jaume Plensa (where these pictures were taken). For my accessories I opted for Banana Republic heels, a Heidi Daus ring, and vintage earrings. My sunglasses were a lucky find in a tiny shop I happened upon when I was roaming through Little Italy in Manhattan last summer.
