Sometimes I don’t have much time to plan out outfits in advance, so it’s always a happy moment when you put something together on the fly that you end up really liking. This look came together at the last minute.
Of course I waited until after Labor Day to wear white pants! Fashion “rules” are meant to be broken anyway. Here I am wearing wide leg trousers by 1. State and a vintage gold blouse stolen from my mum’s closet. Fun fact: she bought this top in a London boutique in the 70’s.
Anything high-waisted usually presents an amazing silhouette and when you combine that with a wide leg the effect is very figure flattering. Whether you call them trousers or palazzos, I find wide leg pants to be a garment that can be worn by any shape and size. Plus they look sharp, sharp, sharp! Your legs will look so long, especially when the pants fall just short of the ground and reveal only the tips of your shoes. I finished with a vintage belt (I needed my pop of color somewhere!) and a pair of patent leather Zara stilettos.
