Wearing the Color of Happiness

Yellow. The color of sunshine, baby chicks, lemons, sunflowers, smiley faces, hope, happiness….It is a color I will never tire of. Color theorists call yellow the hue of optimism and energy. Perhaps this is why I feel strongly about wearing it. I will forever be the optimist, the glass half full kind of person. Nothing makes me happier than seeing other people happy. I was taught to meet people where they are at. So if I can make someone smile, whether it is through being a good listener or telling them something funny, I consider it a good day.

You can imagine my delight when I saw this yellow dress by Chicwish. It combined a favorite color with a favorite cut (hello off the shoulder!) – for me, a match made in heaven. This dress falls in such a flattering way and I can easily imagine wearing it many different places….a dreamy midsummer picnic, a tuscan wedding, a wander through any little town or vale. I chose it for my visit to the Mountain View Grand Resort and Spa. This picturesque hotel is in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. It is about 3 hours from Boston but what a pretty drive and what a divine spot once you arrive. The resort is one of America’s truly grand hotels, part of a unique collection of historical buildings including the Biltmore and Le Pavillion. Pack something beautiful and preferably yellow when you visit! Speaking of packing, off to do that now. Tomorrow I am heading back to NYC. I am counting down the minutes at this point…cannot wait! It is going to be a very special trip. Hoping for wonderful days ahead for all of you!
