There is something distinct about Fashion Week in London. England’s capital has a way of attracting experimental dressers and exciting combinations. The collections are vibrant and designers imbue their creations with a sense of wittiness. The idea of “mod” still lends its unmistakable and vibrant mood. Mod is a subculture that began in the United Kingdom in the 1960’s and from there spread around the world. What first comes to mind are miniskirts, bright colors, bold patterns, pop art, and the iconic model Twiggy. In many ways the mod influence is still reflected in the young-at-heart designs that characterize London’s fashion scene.
