Have you ever been to Japan? It is a country whose culture fascinates me and I hope to visit it someday. Let me know in the comments if you have been there and what I should definitely see when I go! In the meantime, I found a beautiful Japanese garden in New Hampshire of all places. It is located at Fuller Gardens in North Hampton, right on the seacoast. In fact, you can see the ocean from the gardens. It is an easy drive from Boston and I highly recommend a visit. The sooner the better too because the roses are about to bloom! In addition to the Japanese garden, there is an extensive formal rose garden that is laid out in a handsome quadrant and it will be at its peak in mid to late June.

There was a lovely coolness off the trees and a romantic feeling in the air in the Japanese garden. In the center is a little koi pond but when I shot this, the koi were in their pool in the greenhouse. I guess it is still a little cool for them outside. These koi were without a doubt the biggest I have ever seen – seriously! They were all at least 12 inches long!

I love a matching set, especially for summer. It is reminiscent of a dress – where you can just throw on one thing if you’re done – but it gives you more options later on to split up the pieces and wear them separately.
