Time for summertime blues! No matter the shade, blue is one of my favorite colors (evidence of that here). Cobalt, ice, navy, baby, royal, periwinkle, cerulean, denim, twilight…I love them all, and more often than not I’m wearing at least one of them. Today I felt inspired by the countless blues contained in the ocean. There was something about the simplicity of the beach paired with classic summer stripes that just felt right.
Linen makes me think summer. It’s still cool enough here in New England to make this British Khaki blazer the perfect topper, especially with an ocean breeze. I brought it out for a quick trip to the seacoast and already have many more plans for it. Slightly textured with a light and breezy feel, linen is comfortable even on hot days and warm nights. I love the blue and white of this blazer, but there’s also this white version and this one too, as well as this summery Theory dress that I would layer under the stripy jacket.
Stripes are a classic – always and forever. For me they are a closet staple. That’s one of the reasons why these linen pants are favorites. They’re easy to wear and go just as well over a swimsuit as they do dressed up for evening. I’m currently loving MDS pieces like these palazzo pants, especially when paired with this wrap top. If you are wanting more stripes in your life (because I know I do!) this dress, this dress, and this skirt are amazing and perfect for the upcoming summer sunshine!
