I just got back from a short trip to Newport, which was a mix of business and pleasure. It is such a beautiful city to walk through and I always enjoy my time there. I stayed at the amazing Newport Bay Club and Hotel. It is in a perfect location – within walking distance to the Newport Harbor, Cliff Walk, the Mansions, and all the cute spots downtown. The building was originally Perry Mill, built in 1835, and has now been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. I had the prettiest view from my room and I loved waking up to the sight of masks swaying in the harbor.

We have been spoiled with the weather as it has been mild but it finally feels fall enough for layers. When it gets cold, I pretty much live in turtlenecks, and this velvet one is super soft. The blazer is vintage, but here’s something close. I’m in my Banana Republic skirt (similar and affordable here). Everything that I post I actually do wear, and not just once either. I am also blessed to know a good tailor. If I want to change something up that I’ve been wearing for a while, I’ll just sketch it out and have it altered.
