Outfit Details:
Sandra Darren dress (similar here and here), Sun N’ Sand bag (old, fun options here and here), Quay Australia sunglasses (also worn here and here), Crisscross sandals, Handmade earrings (I love asymmetric earrings, like this pair and this pair!), Vintage bracelet
I grew up on a lake doing all the classic activities – swimming, boating, tubing, waterskiing, kayaking. Because of this, I’ve always considered myself more of a “lake person” than an “ocean person.” But I have to admit there is no substitute for looking out over an endless expanse of blue. Time at the lake feels like home. A trip to the ocean feels like a getaway.
I like wearing maxi dresses when I travel because they are the perfect “one and done” outfits. They also can be layered with something else for a completely different look. Remember this rust maxi I wore last month? The Sandra Darren one I’m wearing today is old but I found a similar style at Revolve. Maxi dresses are flattering, lightweight, and easy – the ideal pieces for summer. I love this scarf hem Diane Von Furstenberg and this beautiful turquoise print dress . And if you’re looking for a few more affordable dress options for the season, I also love the botanical print of this off the shoulder one as well as this rainbow dress.
This week I was able to make a quick trip from the city over to Hampton, New Hampshire. It’s a great beach that doesn’t get as crowded as some of the beaches on the Cape. The community hosts a cool sand sculpting contest every year. These pictures were taken a few days after the competition. This year there were ten sculptors (including one from the Netherlands!). Each was given 10 tons of sand on the Thursday before the competition and they had until Saturday to finish their creation.
I’m a huge fan of asymmetric jewelry. The earrings I’m wearing today are handmade and I found this awesome pair from Lulu Frost. I also love the gold pieces here and here.
