I spent most of last week in NYC. In the summer it’s usually very hot and humid, but when I was there this time the weather was perfect. Between meetings and appointments, I spent a little time in Bryant Park, adjacent to NYC’s Public Library. It is so pretty right now. Flowers and foliage spill out everywhere while the skyline of buildings form the backdrop. I felt right at home in this little oasis in midtown Manhattan. The park was perfect for my outfit of the day and its exotic print. Several months ago, my aunt gifted me with this artisanal fabric from Zimbabwe. When I saw it I was immediately inspired – anything bold and colorful usually gets my attention! I sketched out the design and had it made for me. In general, I love the high waist with crop top silhouette – I think it is very flattering to many different body types. Having the pieces as a matching set intensifies the effect. I’m wearing Zara block heels – perfect for the city because in NYC I love to walk everywhere! My earrings are handmade out of a geode and tassels, and are asymmetric (one of my favorite trends right now, as seen with my bubble dress and at Hampton Beach). You can shop some cool options here and here.
I like to wear prints year round but something about large scale, extra bright prints screams summer to me. Below are some of my current favorites:

5. Mara Hoffman
