Outfit Details:
Cynthia Rowley dress (similar style, and this rainbow dress is amazing), Candies heels (which I brought with me to London for fashion week. Affordable version here, and love this pair by Gianvito Rossi), Heidi Daus cuffs (try this one) and earrings (pave’ drop and turquoise tones), Banana Republic clutch (similar here, kicky one here), Quay Australia sunglasses (last seen touring The Mount)
Did you know that the human eye can detect more than 6 million colors? My favorite color? Well I guess I would say all of them! I have never met a color I didn’t like or a color combination I wasn’t up to try. If you are going to experiment with color in your wardrobe, why not try more than just a few? As you take in ideas and styles that appeal to you, push yourself a little into the unfamiliar territory of a color bomb. Color has the great value of making clothes seem more energetic. Just picture this Cynthia Rowley dress in one color – boring. Bring on the rainbow dresses!
Color is my day-long obsession, joy, and torment – Claude Monet
The world is a colorful, beautiful place. To celebrate this, I put together some of my current favorite color-happy pieces: this fantastic color block mini, this stripy number perfect for wandering and sunset on the beach, this preppy day dress that puts a bold update on classic, this bold floral maxi, and, just for fun, this crochet and print Roberto Cavalli.
Four reasons to wear something with all the colors of the rainbow:
- It will be easy to pick accessories with so many colors in play.
2. There is no danger of you clashing with any pretty backdrop or flower explosion that you happen upon because you are bound to match, at least in part.
3. You will make people smile. They might stare at first, but that’s okay. They are likely thinking, “I would never wear that but why shouldn’t I?”
4. It will put a smile on your own face. Period. End of story.
I prefer living in color. xo
