Outfit Details:
Zara dress (similar here, amazing Balmain one here), Sam Edelman heels (I like the ones you can find here and here), Natasha clutch (last summer I paired it with a sheer lace blouse), Heidi Daus earrings (close to this pair and this one)
Oftentimes spring and summer fashion is associated with sundresses, florals, and ruffles. While I love a good floral, sometimes I’m in the mood for something a bit edgier. To me, gold hits the bull’s eye. I also consider this metallic to be seasonless. Since I live in a climate with fluctuating weather, I often have to think about how to transition my wardrobe between seasons. This Zara dress is perfect for late spring. The long sleeves mean I stay comfortable even if it gets cooler but the fabric and cut keeps it light.
Last season’s collections were bursting with gold. It’s interesting that designers are no longer just associating gold with evening outfits. Now is the time to wear it all day long, with no limits and no fear of experimentation. While today I styled this look for an evening out, I would also wear it for day with these slip-on sandals and this tote.
Since the shape of this dress was simple, I stepped up the look with my accessories. I’ve never been one to shy away from a statement heel, so I continued the gold idea with this strappy Sam Edelman pair. Heidi Daus earrings, with a vaguely oriental feel, add a little punch.
